The call for "Get to know the circus and street arts from another country" has opened, consisting of five international visits that help professionals discover experiences from other territories
FiraTàrrega is one of five projects involved in CASA, a support program for the European circus and street arts comprised of five international cultural organizations. The initiative's mission is to contribute to the training of contemporary circus professionals and creation in public space in transnational work and cooperation, willing to grow their ambition and their ability to work in the international field. FiraTàrrega promotes the project along with MiramirO (Belgium), SirkusInfo Findland (Finland) Cirqueon (Czech Republic) and Subtopia (Sweden).
One of the main activities of this program is the organization of exploratory trips to know the reality of the circus and street arts in countries participating in the project. In particular five stays of 7 days are proposed in which 10 professionals from different nationalities will explore and map the local cultural by means of an open call to participate. The selected participants will tour festivals, and residence, production or training centres with the aim of opening job opportunities and inspiring themselves with innovative approaches. On these trips artistic creation will be seen and examples of creative strategies, especially focused on developing audiences and markets. The trip will be guided by an international facilitator and CASA will cover all travel expenses, transportation, accommodation, allowances and tickets to performances of selected participants.
The call is aimed at working professionals (2 years minimum) in the field of street arts and circus (artists, producers, programmers, managers, journalists ...) with a specific interest in audiences and/or marketing development.
